Suryen is an associate solicitor within our specialist Construction and Engineering Law department.
Suryen is an expert in dispute resolution resolved through litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and expert determination.
He has experience acting in both common-law and civil-law jurisdictions for domestic and international projects of varying size and complexity.
He has acted for main contractors, sub-contractors, employers, construction professionals, public bodies and developers on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Suryen has been called to both the English and Mauritian Bar and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Society of Construction Law.
As well as advising on legal matters, Suryen has also lectured construction professionals on aspects of construction contracts, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution. He has also regularly contributed to the Adjudication Society Newsletter and the Building Magazine’s “Case in Focus” on various aspects of adjudication and construction law.
When not working on complex construction matters he enjoys visiting the theatre or going swimming. He also likes travelling and exploring nature.
