Maisie Yau is based at our Basildon office.
Maisie qualified as a solicitor in September 2012 and has been practising in Commercial Property work since then. She joined Palmers, in March 2014.
Maisie read law at the University of East Anglia followed by a Masters in Employment Law at the same institution, where she was awarded a distinction, graduating in 2006 and 2007 respectively. She was also awarded a distinction in her Legal Practice Course, which she obtained at Leicester De Montfort University.
Maisie is a member of both our Commercial Property and Construction and Engineering Law departments following her promotion to Associate status in August 2016. As part of her Associate role she is responsible for working with clients in the construction and engineering sectors. Maisie deals with all aspects of non-contentious construction projects, including building contracts (whether industry standard or bespoke), consultants’ appointments, insurance, collateral warranties and third party rights, and performance bonds, parent company guarantees and novation.
Her background and continuing involvement in the commercial property team has enabled her to develop a portfolio of work for property developers such work including overage and option agreements, conditional agreements and planning agreements.
Maisie’s commercial property work includes landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals of freehold properties, property refinancing, property management and investment work, and support for corporate transactions.
Outside of work, Maisie enjoys socialising with friends, baking, skiing, eating out and playing the piano.
