Case Handlers – Conveyancing

Permanent Roles. Full-time (Mon-Fri 9am to 5.30pm)
Locations: Basildon & Rayleigh office.

We have exciting opportunities for two conveyancing case handlers with a minimum of 12 months Residential Conveyancing experience to join our growing teams based at our Basildon & Rayleigh offices.

The successful candidates will be expected to:-

  • Manage client’s expectations and maintain a high standard of customer care.
  • Create and maintain a rapport with clients, agents and brokers.
  • Possess a good knowledge of anti money laundering issues targeting/affecting property transactions.
  • Progress the administration of transactions proactively.
  • Preferably have experience in carrying out post completion procedures and registrations.
  • Effectively prioritise work to ensure all targets and deadlines are met
  • Possess an excellent telephone manner and be able to confidently and calmly deal with difficult telephone conversations with parties involved in the transaction.
  • Draft non-standard non-technical correspondence.
  • Ensure that files are kept tidy and the information within the case management system is accurate and up to date.
  • Issue regular updates to clients and estate agents.
  • Be fully conversant with all standard letters, searches and forms

Candidates must be also have at least 12 months proven experience of the entire conveyancing process to preferably include post completion work.  Be familiar with the distinctions between registered, unregistered, freehold and leasehold transactions.

Credit Control Manager

This is an exciting new opportunity for a credit control manager to join a busy and successful Essex-based law firm.

As our credit control manager you will have responsibility for all aspects of credit control. The role will be fundamental to the firm’s continuing success and growth, sitting at the heart of the firm’s operations.

The Role will include:-

  • Ensuring adherence to the agreed credit control procedures and protocols across the practice.
  • Initiating and undertaking a programme of regular face to face credit control meetings with all fee earning staff, including travelling to each office site.
  • Monitoring the firm’s credit control procedures and reporting findings to the Financial Controller and the Partnership .
  • Contributing ideas for improving the day to day credit control operations of the Practice and discuss these with the Financial Controller.
  • Producing N1 Claims, entering judgements against non-paying clients.

The successful candidate will have an influential role within the firm reporting to the Financial Controller and the Partners. They will also have a considerable breadth of credit control knowledge so as to develop the credit control information used by the firm and the way in which it is captured and reported.

Candidates will possess a highly commercial outlook and ideally have knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.

We have a vacancy for a full-time Legal Cashier to join our busy accounts team in a successful multi-office Essex-based law firm.

The role involves a variety of tasks including:-

  • Processing client & office account payments & receipts
  • Transferring funds between client & office accounts
  • Posting unpaid disbursements and supplier invoices
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Taking card payments
  • Daily banking of funds
