Assistant Credit Controller

6 months fixed-term contract (with possible extension)
Hours: 12noon to 6.00pm Monday to Friday

We have a vacancy for an assistant credit controller, initially upon a fixed term contract and with the possibility of either a further extension to that contract or a permanent role being offered.

Would you like to grow your credit control  experience?  Do you relish the idea of working in  a busy professional accounts team that supports a successful multi-office, Essex-based law firm?  If so, this could be the opportunity for you!

This role will involve supporting our Credit Control Manager and undertaking various tasks within credit control, as well as occasionally assisting generally within our accounts department as and when the need arises.

Whilst training will be provided, we are seeking applications from candidates who have a year’s previous experience working in a credit control environment and ideally, also possess some general accounts related experience.

The successful candidate must be confident when liaising directly with clients/fee earners, understand the importance of maintaining a good relationship with clients and possess a calm & professional manner.

You will have:-

  • Some previous experience of working within a credit control/financial administration role
  • Educated to A-level or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular a good understanding of using Excel
  • Positive and proactive approach in liaising with clients
  • Good administration skills and a high attention to detail
  • Be organised with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • The ability to increase your working hours to assist with holiday cover and times of increased workload.

Trainee Legal Secretary – Thurrock Office

This is a full-time, 12 month fixed-term contract.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have recently successfully completed your legal secretarial course and are keen to now gain experience working within a busy legal environment. You will be assisting our residential property team based at our Thurrock office.

As well as a willingness and an aptitude to learn, candidates must possess a can-do approach to their work, excellent and accurate typing skills together with strong organisational abilities. Professional communication skills are also essential.
