Commercial Property Lawyer – Head of Department

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile and confident commercial property lawyer who is looking for a long-term career within an expanding and busy commercial property department.

You will have already successfully managed a team and have the ability to take on a varied commercial property workload. Building a good rapport with existing clients and attracting new clients is essential for this role. You must also have the ability to deliver a commercial approach to client matters and possess a strong and sustained reputation.

This is a full-time role which provides the opportunity to undertake high quality work and business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision, coaching and performance management of fee earners within the commercial property team.

Paralegal – Residential Property – Rayleigh Office

Full-time Role – Hours 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a residential property paralegal to join our successful residential property team based in Rayleigh.

The successful candidate will be expected to:-

  • Manage client’s expectations and maintain a high standard of customer care.
  • Create and maintain a rapport with clients, agents and brokers.
  • Possess a good knowledge of anti money laundering issues targeting affecting property transactions.
  • Progress the administration of transactions proactively.
  • Preferably have experience in carrying out post completion procedures and registrations.
  • Effectively prioritise work to ensure all targets and deadlines are met.
  • Possess an excellent telephone manner and be able to confidently and calmly deal with difficult telephone conversations with parties involved in the transaction.
  • Draft non-standard non-technical correspondence.
  • Ensure that files are kept tidy and the information within the case management system is accurate and up to date.
  • Issue regular updates to clients and estate agents.
  • Be fully conversant with all standard letters, searches and forms

Under supervision, you will also be expected to carry out legal tasks including drafting legal documentation and correspondence to a level commensurate with experience and potential, preparation of SDLT & Land Registry forms and liaising directly with clients.

In addition to legal support to the department, you will also provide typing and administrative support.

It is essential that applicants have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, the ability to work efficiently and accurately together with good software skills including a sound knowledge of on-line time recording and electronic legal forms.

*Whilst this position is advertised as a full-time role, we will consider applications from candidates wishing to work a 4-day week.
