South Essex law firm celebrates 35th anniversary

A South Essex law firm is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its founding this week.

Palmers Solicitors, which now has offices in Basildon, Rayleigh, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, opened its doors for the first time on 1 August 1983 in Basildon.

The firm was founded by John Morgan, Mike Hunter and Clive Tant all of whom are now enjoying their retirement. The Partnership, which has gone from strength to strength, now consists of nine partners.

The award-winning firm, which has more than 100 staff and partners based across its four offices, has enjoyed a period of strong growth that saw it open its newest office in Rayleigh last year.

The firm takes particular pride in the long service of its team, more than a third of whom have been with Palmers Solicitors for more than a decade.

A total of 34 partners and staff at the firm have passed this milestone, with the list including team members of all ranks, from admin assistants to six of the firm’s partners.

A total of 12 members of the team have been at the firm for more than 20 years, with five celebrating their 30th anniversaries within the next two years. This includes Denise Williams, a Secretary at the firm’s South Woodham Ferrers office, who celebrated her 30th anniversary with the firm earlier this year.

BJ Chong, a partner at Palmers Solicitors, said: “Over the last 35 years we have been able to cement ourselves as one of South Essex’s foremost law firms, handling a wide range of private client and commercial matters.

“We are a firm that is now consistently ranked in the prestigious Legal 500 guide to the legal sector. I would like to thank all the partners and staff for their hard work over the years and, in particular, our loyal clients, without whom we would not be where we are today.”
