A solicitor at a leading Essex-based law firm has been admitted as a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Kate Middleton, a solicitor in the Private Client department at Palmers Solicitors, which has offices in Basildon, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, was granted full membership of STEP by the organisation’s membership committee on Tuesday 10 January 2017.

STEP is the worldwide professional association for professionals including lawyers, accountants and others who advise families on matters relating to trusts and estates such as Will writing and the administration of estates.

In order to achieve full membership of STEP, Kate has completed a rigorous programme of study and assessment and has demonstrated the minimum of two years of experience in dealing with relevant matters at a specialist level.

Kate said: “I am delighted to have been admitted as a full member of STEP. Membership of STEP gives clients the peace of mind they need that their matter is being dealt with by a suitably trained and qualified professional, who can provide the highest standards of advice.”

Lee McClellan, a partner at Palmers, added: “I would like to congratulate Kate on her admission as a full member of STEP, which is a further boost to the private client services we offer as a firm.

“We are continuously working to ensure that we provide the highest standards of advice and best practice to our clients. One of the ways we do this is by encouraging our professional staff to engage with the professional bodies relevant to their particular specialisms.”

Kate joined Palmers in November 2016 as one of five solicitors taken on by the firm last year as part of ambitious expansion plans, which will enable it to offer its award-winning services to more clients across the region than ever before.
