Palmers Solicitors, which has offices in Basildon, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Learning and Development category of the prestigious, national, Law Society Excellence Awards.
The national awards are organised by the Law Society, the organisation which represents solicitors in England and Wales.
As part of the rigorous judging process for the awards, the firm had to prepare a detailed submission describing the full range of its training and development programme along with evidence including supporting statements and staff feedback from training sessions.
Practice Manager, Gina Newman said: “We’re honoured to have been shortlisted in the Law Society Excellence awards. These are prestigious national awards and it’s wonderful to have such high-profile recognition of our hard work and our determination to provide truly excellent training along with various pathways to career development for all staff and partners.”
Partner, Lee McClellan added: “We’re committed to providing a rewarding home for the careers of our entire team. Our learning and development programme is central to this, covering everything from continuing professional development for our lawyers to leadership programmes and mentoring, alongside communication skills training and even mindfulness classes.”
Speaking to the Law Society Gazette, the president of the Law Society, Robert Bourns said: “To be shortlisted for the Excellence Awards is an achievement to be proud of.”
“The awards showcase the really excellent work and dedication of the profession to our clients and the wider community, and this is one of the most rewarding and memorable days in the legal calendar.”
This is Palmers’ second awards success in as many weeks; last week, the firm was confirmed as one of just two finalists in the Customer Care and Service (large firm) category in the Essex Business Excellence Awards.
The winners of the Law Society Excellence Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London on 20 October.
