A legal assistant at a South Essex-based law firm is getting set to take part in the London Marathon 2017.
Kimberley Portas, who works as legal assistant within the residential property team at the Basildon office of Palmers Solicitors, which also has offices in Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, will be taking part in the race to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice.
This will not be Kimberley’s first London Marathon, however. In 2012, she took part in the race for St Luke’s Hospice, raising more than £1,800 in the process.
Kimberley said: “I am delighted that my application to take part in the London Marathon 2017 has been accepted. The 2012 race was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I crossed the finishing like with a smile on my face and I’m looking forward to doing so again.
“My training programme is already in full swing, and I will be looking to surpass my previous fundraising total for St Luke’s Hospice.
Carey Jacobs, a Partner at Palmers, said: “It was a great achievement for Kimberley when she ran the London Marathon in 2012. Running it a second time will be even more of an achievement and we are all proud of Kimberley and her fundraising efforts for a very deserving cause.”
