Employers

The world of employment law is ever increasing. The growth in legislation cause personnel issues to appear daunting but with expert advice it need not be too onerous. There are positive aspects that can be achieved by seeking to always follow employment law. Such good practice can make employees feel more secure and therefore, more loyal to an employer which in turn can improve performance. The impact of employment legislation is serious and can be costly for both large and small employers. It can cause unfavourable press regardless of the direct financial consequences.

In the employment department our aim is to guide employers upon what procedures they should be following, whether dealing with conduct or performance issues or redundancy and to continue to guide right through the process to ensure the most cost effect result can be achieved with the least amount of litigation. We work closely with our clients to keep them up to date and in line with all new legislation through seminars and regular newsletters. We are keen to advise clients at an early stage in an attempt to avoid potential problems, but where they occur we aim to help achieve the result that is sought.

Our lawyers specialising in employment law, will also be able to assist you in drafting procedures, employment contracts and advising and assisting in drafting documentation relating to a transfer of an undertaking on the disposal or acquisition of a business as well as assisting with applications for union recognition.

Our commercial Employment services include:

  • advice on dismissals or action short of dismissal

“Dear Deborah,
We wanted to drop you a line to thank you for your help and support with the case against XXXX. As you know, due to the change in solicitors and counsel, we lost some faith in representation. However you completely turned this around to bring the case to a satisfactory conclusion and we are very grateful!”
