Lee obtained both his Law Degree and Legal Practice Course Diploma from Sheffield University. He joined the firm in 1996 as a trainee and was admitted in 1998. He was made a partner in August 2002.
Lee is a member of the nationwide group 'Solicitors for the Elderly' which specialises in all areas of law affecting the elderly client.
In addition to undertaking more traditional wills and probate work, Lee also advises clients on inheritance tax planning and other issues relevant to the older client including those relating to long term care. He has acted for an ever growing number of clients concerning disputes with both the NHS and various local authorities over the funding of residential and nursing care.
Lee also specialises in dealing with contested probate matters and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
He is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing rugby, football, squash and golf - in declining order of ability. In addition to both playing and watching sport he also enjoys socialising with family and friends, especially if it involves a nice meal. He also tries to attend the gym semi-regularly in order to arrest the expansion of his waistline.
“I found the people with whom I had meetings with, (Lee McClellan and his Secretary Jamie King) very polite and their care and attention was excellent.”
Mrs Mason (Basildon) - May 2010
