Mark Harris, a solicitor at South Essex-based law firm, Palmers, took part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride on 19 June to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Mark, who works at the firm’s Basildon office in the Debt and Insolvency Department, was joined by his daughter, Cara, for the 54 mile bike ride, which they completed in 5 hours 54 mins. This is the second year running that Mark has taken part in the event.
Mark and Cara have already raised £275 for the British Heart Foundation, exceeding their target of £250 and hope to exceed last year’s figure of £390 before long.
Mark said: “I’m pleased to have raised so much for the British Heart Foundation, who help so many people and fund valuable research”.
“The Ride also takes place on Father’s Day and so I am happier still that my daughter Cara joined me this year as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.
“The British Heart Foundation is close to my heart as I have twice had open heart surgery and have seen first-hand the good work they do.”
Lee McClellan, a Partner at Palmers, said: “All of us here at Palmers would like to congratulate Mark and Cara on raising so much for a very deserving cause.”
