We celebrate schoolchildren’s poetic flair with festive-themed competition

We have helped celebrate local schoolchildren’s poetic flair with a festive-themed poetry competition at Rayleigh Primary School.

The competition was divided by age group into four categories, with prizes for the top three festive-themed poems from pupils in Year 1, Year 2, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6.

Adam Davis recently attended a school assembly to present certificates to the winners, with the respective first prizes going to Abigail Wilson, Year 1; Lucy Barnett, Year 2; Matilda Barry, Years 3 and 4; and Oliver Cheung, Years 5 and 6.

The four winners of the first prizes have been invited to read their poems at our Christmas Carol Concert on Thursday 14 December 2017 at St Martin’s Church in Basildon.

Adam Davis said: “As a firm that is new to Rayleigh this year, we have been keen to engage with the local community as much as we can.

“The standard of entries in our poetry competition was exceptional and it was very difficult to choose the winners.

“I was delighted to be able to visit Rayleigh Primary School to present the children with certificates from our firm in recognition of their achievements.”
