Chris Mowat – one of the founding partners of award-winning Essex law firm Palmers Solicitors and now a Consultant Solicitor with the firm – recently presented a cheque to St. Luke’s Hospice.
Having raised £2,115 through Palmers’ annual Christmas carol concert, staff fundraising events throughout the year and charitable giving by the partners, Chris was able to hand over the cheque to the Hospice’s head of fund-raising, Heather Kendel.
Based in Basildon and Thurrock, St. Luke’s Hospice provides care for people who have specialist palliative and end of life care needs. Whilst this covers cancer, it also includes other illnesses such as heart failure, multiple sclerosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or motor neurone disease. Furthermore, St. Luke’s Hospice is the service provider for the South Essex Lymphoedema Service.
“St. Luke’s is a well deserving local charity undertaking life sustaining work in the community. Palmers is proud to be associated with it and congratulates each and every member of its staff for all its care, hard work and effort in bringing hope to so many people,” commented Chris.
Palmers regularly raises funds for charity and most recently three of its solicitors competed in a triathlon organised to raise money for another local charity.
